New Jersey Acupuncture CEU / PDA Requirements

The Acupuncture Examining Board, which falls under the supervision of the State Board of Medical Examiners, is responsible for the regulation of acupuncturists, supervisors of acupuncturist training programs, and acupuncturist trainees. Renewal is by June 30th of odd numbered years.

26 hours of continuing education are required for renewal however, only 13 hours can be distance learning courses approved by NCCAOM.
Licensees must also hold a current certification in CPR, first aid, and use of an
automated external defibrillator (AED) from courses offered by the American Heart
Association or a substantially similar course approved or offered by the American Red
Cross, the National Safety Council, Coyne First Aid, Inc., the American Safety and Health
Institute, EMP International Inc., or EMS Safety Services Inc.

A licensed acupuncturist shall practice herbology only if he or she submits proof to the Board of current certification in Chinese Herbology or Oriental Medicine from the NCCAOM and has a letter from the Board recognizing that the licensed acupuncturist has submitted this information.
